written notes;

In California about 1% of blind people have counselling.

So this means that Services are available but people are not aware that they are there.

Numbee one thing an employer was is
social skills:
coordination
instruction
negotiation
persuasion
service orientation
social perceptiveness

Number 2:
Work Place behaviors and Values:

Basic Skills Knowledge
math
Science
reading
writing
speaking

Gaps:
Most problem
Social skills

Research study showed that most of the populations doesn't believe a handicapped person should work.

Whenthey asked disable people ifthey thought they were disabled
20% dud not consider themselves diabled or at least doesn't want to be considered that way.

Handicapped people see employement ranks high as an element that defines a person as Successful.

Researchers tried to define soft skills so that they could finda specific remedy

can teach a skill but not a personality trait

Looked for a zone of control

first cluster:

Critical thinking skills:
problem solving
time management
common sense

Work Ethic
responsibility to their job

3.
Social Rapport:
Persona ability to be liked and trusted:
eye contact
emotional perceptiveness

4. Collaboration
ability to negotiate
to take criticsm
to work with others

4 domains what they can control under their environment

Critical Thinkin skills:
time management
time management
common sense

work ethic:

being present on the job
being trustworthiy
having a commitment to work
being able to self supervise

Collaboration:

teamwork and communication skills are critical

Social rapport:
skills relation to emotional projection
how you are controlling your emotions
and how you are receiving them

Hard skill:
If you want to cut a tree you have to learn to chop

If you want to build a website you need to know html, you need to type,

For these you need to do something so that you can be taught

Soft skills are a large set of interrelated skills that allow people to work effectively.

These are not character traits.  These are skills that can be learned if we design the right curriculum.

These factors can all be combined to give the individual the ability to lead what they defined as a successful life.

Three of the skills can be observed and can therefore be taught.

However critical thinking skills can't be seen so this can be only seen through social interaction.
